Merry Gant Norris opened Merry Nova Studio in 2000 to provide a safe place for women to explore their creativity through art.

Merry is the founder of Goddess and Angel Workshop, a joyful experience designed to assist women in their quest for wholeness. She presents workshops nationally on PAINTING A PERSONAL MANDALA and GODDESS AND ANGEL.

Merry began her career as a professional portrait painter in Columbus, Ohio forty years ago, and then moved to watercolor and pastel painting.

Merry has studied abroad and nationally with many acclaimed artists at amazing locations including:

Studied with Marvin Triguba, Master Portrait Painter.

Watercolor study with Jan Hart at Ghost Ranch (the home of Georgia O’Keefe).

Painted in the South of France, including Monet’s Garden with Chris Curry, watercolor artist.

The art of Mandalas with Paul Heussenstamm in New Mexico, Laguna Beach and Maui. She also traveled to Paris with Paul to experience “The Art of Paris Through Spiritual Eyes”. Paul is known internationally for his spiritual art, in particular his work with Mandalas.

Merry offers classes in a variety of media, including colored pencil, acrylic painting, collage, layering and watercolor. She also offers a course based on Judy Cameron’s best seller, The Artist’s Way. These classes have always provided a highly supportive space for both advanced and beginning artists.

Merry maintains Merry Nova Studio in Worthington and lives with her husband John and their rescue dog, Gus Gus.

Merry is honored to be part of “The Women’s Palette” a group of professional painters who’ve been painting together and critiquing each others work for 35 years.

Merry studied art at The Akron Art Institute, Kent State University, Columbus College of Art and Design, and with private teachers internationally.

She has been honored with five solo shows and is affiliated with the Central Ohio Watercolor Society, Ohio Watercolor Society, and Society of Layerists in Multi Media.
